Bracken Ridge Fire and Rescue Station


This state-of-the-art Fire and Rescue Station, located on Bracken Ridge Road, will handle local fires and emergency situations in the area currently served by the Sandgate Station on Brighton Road, Sandgate.

Queensland Brain Institute, University of Queensland


A purpose built research facility consisting of 7 floors and 11,500 sqm supporting the collaboration across the many scientific fields being fundamental to the buildings’ performance. The form, circulation routes, glazing, colour and materiality was carefully designed to create this research theatre.

Translational Research Institute


Australia’s first translational medical research institute dedicated to translating scientific discoveries into applications for medical practice. The Translational Research Institute is a 32,000 square metre building making it the largest medical research institute in the southern hemisphere. There are eight floors, including four floors of laboratory research facilities and facilities for research support, administration, and teaching. There are 14 research modules for 50 scientists across four levels. It is also home to the UQ School of Medicine and School of Nursing and Midwifery. There is a 250-seat auditorium and adjoining seminar rooms, a data centre with capacity for 100 racks.

Herston Quarter Redevelopment, Queensland


Watpac’s initial scope of works for Herston was valued at $325 million and included the relocation of existing site services as well as decommissioning of redundant services. Work then commenced on the construction of a new Specialist Rehabilitation and Ambulatory Care Centre (SRACC building) for Metro North Hospital and Health Services. The SRACC building includes 35,157 sqms of facilities and Sky Bridge to the Royal Brisbane and Woman’s Hospital. Watpac will also be delivering the Spanish Steps (from Herston Road to the main public space), dedicated car parks underground, major infrastructure updates and associated road upgrades.

Logan Hospital Maternity Assessment Unit Refubishment


As part of the broader Logan Hospital redevelopment, this project involves the refurbishment and expansion of Logan Hospital’s maternity ward, birthing unit and special care nursery, boosting capacity and delivering state-of-the-art facilities including birthing pools.

Bundaberg Hospital – Current Redevelopment


This brand-new state-of-the-art hospital facility will be the biggest project ever undertaken in Bundaberg, costing approximately $1.2 billion. The new facility will provide an expanded emergency department, treatment spaces, new cardiac facilities, a mental health unit, helipad, and courtyards. By 2026/2027, the new hospital will replace the Bundaberg Base Hospital.

Redland Hospital - Birthing and ED Upgrade


The expansion of Redland Hospital increased the capacity of the emergency department and providing additional maternity wards. It included the development of the $1.73 million Emergency Department Short Stay Expansion and Birthing Unit, including the introduction of water birthing.

Translational Research Institute – PA Hospital


The 32,000 square metre facility features eight levels of which four levels are laboratories, administration and teaching facilities, an auditorium and conference rooms, staff amenities and an "outdoor room" atrium area.

Boulia Hospital


Redevelopment of existing Primary Health Centre in a single storey building consisting of an emergency area, treatment bay, consultation rooms, pharmacy, office and reception areas.
